Activity
Activity helps you recognise the people taking part in your server. You can reward participation, welcome new members and run giveaways for your community.
Open Activity in your server dashboard, then choose the tool you want to set up.
Levelling
Members earn XP from the types of activity you've enabled. You choose the pace, which channels and roles count, and whether members receive role rewards as they level up.
Set it up
- Open Activity → Levelling and enable levelling.
- Choose your XP curve, multiplier and maximum level.
- Enable message XP and set its amount and cooldown. The cooldown helps prevent rapid messages from earning XP every time.
- Check your ignored channels and roles. Leave out places where you don't want members earning XP.
- Add any level role rewards and choose whether rewards should stack.
- Choose your level-up announcement settings, then save.
You can also configure reaction XP. Voice XP requires the premium bot in your server; check that requirement before enabling it. The page lets you set voice participation and cooldown options too.
For role rewards, we'll need Manage Roles and our role above the reward roles. For announcements, we'll need access to your selected channel.
Start with modest XP amounts and test before adding lots of rewards. It's easier to adjust the pace early than after everyone has reached your highest levels.
Events
Events handles things such as member joins, departures and server boosts. You can send announcements and assign roles where the event supports them.
Set it up
- Open Activity → Events.
- Enable the event you want: Member Join, Member Leave or Server Boost.
- Choose its announcement channel.
- For joins, select any automatic roles. For boosts, select any roles you'd like to assign.
- Adjust the message where the page offers it, then save.
Each event has its own switch, so you can use welcome messages without enabling leave or boost announcements. We'll need permission to send messages in the selected channels and manage any roles you choose.
Giveaways
Use giveaways to let members enter for a prize and give your team control over who can manage them.
Set it up
- Open Activity → Giveaways and enable giveaways.
- Choose a command channel if you'd like to keep giveaway management in one place.
- Select a logger channel if you want giveaway logs.
- Set the maximum duration and whether new giveaways should allow multiple entries by default.
- Choose the roles allowed to manage giveaways, then save.
- Check Activity → Commands, then use the giveaway commands listed on our command page.
Before announcing a giveaway, make sure we can post in its channel and your team has agreed what the prize and entry rules are. Changing defaults isn't the same as creating a giveaway.
