Engagement

Engagement gives your community a say in your server. Members can share suggestions and pick up roles through a reaction role panel.

Open Engagement in your server dashboard to get started.

Community suggestions

Keep ideas in one place instead of losing them in chat. You choose where suggestions go, whether members can submit anonymously and who can review them.

Set it up

  1. Open Engagement → Community and enable suggestions.
  2. Choose your suggestion channel.
  3. Decide whether anonymous suggestions are allowed.
  4. Choose whether we should create discussion threads.
  5. Select the roles that can review suggestions, then save.
  6. Check /suggest is enabled in your command settings.

Try sending a suggestion with /suggest and have a member of your review team check the review buttons. We'll need access to send messages in the suggestion channel, plus the relevant thread permissions if you've enabled discussions.

Reaction Roles

Let members choose roles themselves by reacting to a message. This works well for interests, notifications or other optional roles.

Set it up

  1. Open Engagement → Reaction Roles and enable reaction roles.
  2. Give your panel a name and choose its channel.
  3. Enter the emoji members should use.
  4. Select the roles that reaction should add.
  5. Save your changes, then click Publish panel to Discord.

If the panel is already published, save your edits and use Sync panel with Discord to update it.

Blob needs Manage Roles, access to the panel channel and permission to add reactions. Its role must be above the roles on the panel. If you use a custom emoji, make sure it's available to the bot.

Only offer roles you're happy for members to choose themselves. Don't put administrator or moderation roles on a public panel.
